In support of Mayor Beng Climaco’s health program for the city employees, the City Health Office has lined up various activities to benefit the city’s some 2000-strong personnel.

City employees will undergo an annual medical check-up on their birth month. The laboratory examinations will include complete blood count (CBC), urinalysis, chest X-ray; ECG and blood chemistry (fasting blood sugar, uric acide, creatinine, cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, SGOT and SGPT) for employees 40 years old or older; and other laboratory tests as required by the physician.

To strengthen the employees’ immunity, flu and pneumococcal vaccines will also be administered every Monday and Friday from 09:00 am to 12:00 nn and 01:00 pm to 03:00 pm on their scheduled visit, as follows: City Mayor’s Office, City Legal Office, City Administrator’s Office, Barangay Affairs, Licensing Division – July 12; City Budget Office, City Treasurer’s Office – July 15; Sangguniang Panlungsod – July 17; City Engineer’s Office, City Planning Office – July 19; City Accounting Office, City Assessor’s Office – July 22; Human Resource and Management Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office – July 26; City Health Office, City Civil Registrar – July 29; City Veterinarian’s Office, OCENR – August 6; City Agriculturist’s Office, General Services Office – August 10; Traffic Aides – August 13; and City Tourism Office – August 17.

In addition, all city employees may also avail of blood pressure monitoring and random blood sugar screening every first Friday of the month to be conducted after the celebration of the mass.

During her first flag raising ceremony with the employees, Mayor Climaco verbalized her concern for the health and well-being of city employees, stressing that the delivery of quality service to the public is impossible if the employees themselves are sick.

Hence, she directed the City Health Office headed by Dr. Rodel Agbulos to conduct health and medical activities to ensure city employees are in top shape.

She likewise bared plans to extend medical assistance to employees of the city on top of their PhilHealth benefits. — Claudine Uniana
