Mayor Beng Climaco has highly praised police authorities involved in the operation that foiled the abduction of a two-and-a-half year old boy from Tumaga Thursday stressing that the

“We commend the police force for a very quick response, in less than two hours a child abducted was immediately rescued”, Mayor Climaco said, specifically citing City Police OIC Director PSSupt. Jose Chiquito Malayo as well as Sr. Insp. Edilberto Alvarez and Maj. Larry Domingo and their personnel w ho responded to the incident.

The incident, motivated by a family feud happened early morning Thursday when the 2-year old boy was abducted by his uncle and two companions in Tumaga. Reports show that the suspects were arrested by policemen when they rescued the boy at a checkpoint in Recodo.

Arrested were Ryan Asulan Asali, 30, married of Tetuan, Alvin Saudani, 20 of Tumaga and Asiri Andak of Sinunuc.

The mayor on Thursday visited the victim at his residence a few hours after he was rescued.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with the People’s Law enforcement Board (PLEB) with the presence of some police forces,    Mayor Climaco encouraged the police to closely work with the force multipliers as well as the military as well as all other agencies such as the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the anti-kidnapping group among others.

“We give all the best support that we can to the police force in as much as we expect from them strict implementation of the laws”,  Climaco emphasized.

Last weekend, the  police also apprehended an out of town politician and two of his men for illegal possession of firearms and violation of traffic rules.  Early yesterday morning, the authorities also conducted a successful buy bust operation in REcodo. “We commend all those who performed well”. — Sheila Covarrubias
