Carpenter dead, 2 hurt in latest gun violence PDF Print E-mail

A carpenter was killed, while a marine soldier and a teenager were wounded in two most recent gun attacks took place in Sangali and San Roque Saturday night.

Killed was Imbran Lipae y Sabdani, 42, married, of Sitio Arakan Compound, Sangali . Wounded were SSgt. Nelson Mariano y Santos, a liaison officer of NCO based in Western Mindanao Command and Ricardo Campañero, 14, of Sitio Uwak, San Roque.

Lipae was shot to death by his cousin identified as Araja Alpha around 9:25 p.m. He sustained a bullet wound in the chest and died on the spot.

Initial investigation disclosed that Lipae was sitting at their house’s porch when Alpha arrived and engaged him in a heated argument.

Amid their argument, Alpha pulled out a handgun and shot Lipae in the chest. Alpha escaped after the incident.

Mariano and Campañero were shot and wounded by two gunmen around 7:32 p.m. at Sitio Uwak, San Roque.    Mariano sustained a bullet wound in the right arm while Campañero was shot in the right leg.

Police said that Mariano and Campañero were in front of the former’s sari-sari store when two men arrived and pretended as customers. One of them suddenly pulled out a handgun and shot Mariano and Campañero twice.
