Retired cop hurt in gun scuffle PDF Print E-mail

A retired policeman was injured after his gun went off during a fight with a gasoline pump boy along Gov. Camins Avenue last Monday afternoon.

A police report disclosed that Abdulmajid Nuruddin Estino, 55, married, aretired policeman from PRO-ARMM figured in a heated argument with Ronnie Barbas Canares, 22, pump boy of Petron Gas Station around 3:40 p.m. Their heated argument was caused by a simple misunderstanding.

Police said that Estino pulled out his .45 caliber pistol prompting Canares to wrestle the gun from Estino’s hand.

Amid their scuffle, the gun went off hitting the middle finger of Estino’s left hand.

Responding policemen brought Estino and Canares to the central police station for investigation.

Estino presented papers legalizing him to possess and carry firearm.

Police said that Canares and Estino later settled their quarrel amicably. — Dan Toribio Jr.
