Police identify man shot dead in Caragasan PDF Print E-mail

Police have found out the identity of the man who was shot to death by two gunmen at Sitio Caragasan, Maasin last Wednesday afternoon.

The dead man was identified as Merham Arakani of Taluksangay. He sustained a bullet wound in the body and died few meters away from where he was shot.

Initial investigation showed that Arakani and two unidentified men were seen talking in one of the cottages. The conversation turned into a heated argument during which one of the two drew a .45 caliber pistol and shot Arakani in the body.

Although wounded, Arakani managed to run and sought assistance from residents but he fell later on the ground and died.

The gunmen sped towards city proper aboard a motorcycle.

Police recovered a spent shell of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Arakani’s body was brought to the Villa Funeral Parlor for post mortem examination and was later claimed by his relatives.

Sinunuc Police Station commander Sr. Insp. Arturo Alejandro said his men were still trying to determine the identities of the killers. — Dan Toribio Jr.
