Gun violence continues. This time the victim is a male public school teacher who was shot dead by two gunmen in front of their house at Sitio Palayan, Culianan last Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the fatality as Roderick Sanchez y Marcos, 36, an elementary teacher at Lanzones Elementary School.

Sanchez sustained bullet wounds in the head and died on the spot.

Initial investigation disclosed that Sanchez had just come from school and was about to enter the premises of their house around 4:40 p.m., when two men riding on a Honda  XRM motorcycle appeared and the backrider shot him three times at close range.

The killers fled from the crime scene and sped towards the highway in Culianan. Recovered by investigators from  where Sanchez fell were three spent shells of .45 caliber pistol.

The body was brought to a funeral parlor for post mortem examination.

Men of the Culianan police station were gathering information to identify and arrest the killers. Several angles are being looked as to why Sanchez was killed.

The gunslaying of Sanchez came a day after Merham Arakani, a resident of Taluksangay was gunned down in Caragasan Thursday.

Two other shooting incidents took place last week. SSgt. Nelson Mariano and Ricardo Campañero were shot and wounded by Rizza Faiza in San Roque Saturday last week. Faiza was arrested later.

Wilfredo Prieto was shot dead by Kagawad Wilfrido Sabillano Friday last week in Lumbangan.

Another recent gun violence saw the death of two mining firm companies in Vitali.
