HPG to assist local traffic enforcers during Ramadan PDF Print E-mail

Highway Patrol Group units nationwide have been directed to assist local traffic enforcers during the celebration of  Ramadan.

Quoting a Letter of Instruction dated July 15, 2013 issued by HPG National Headquarters in Camp Crame,  Supt. Severino B. Agustin, HPG 9 chief, disclosed that they have been directed to conduct information dissemination through the media and other means of information, education and communication materials to inform people and assist traffic conditions in each area of jurisdiction.

Agustin directed all HPG-9 provincial  teams in Zamboanga Peninsula to adopt a traffic scheme and assist local traffic commands in their area of jurisdiction.

“I always remind each provincial chief to be on alert and vigilant at all cost in the performance of their duties while enforcing their traffic scheme and conitinue the conduct of anti-carnapping operations,” Agustin said.

He also ordered all HPG-9 operatives to perform acts of heroism each  day to help people by assisting them during traffic decongestion “even if it is small or big task.”

Recently, President Noynoy Aquino commended two policemen, PO2 Felipe Montacar of Bacolod City and PO2 Edlyn Arbo of the Eastern Police District in Metro Manila for their bravey and determination in arresting criminals even without service firearms. Aquino awarded them with honors and a 9mm Glock pistol. — Allen Abastillas
