Two more suspected drug pushers were arrested in fresh buy-bust operation carried out by men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company at dawn yesterday at Sitio Luyahan, Pasonanca.

ZCPSC commander Supt. William Gadayan identified those arrested as Albener Jamiri alias Al of Sulu and Shara Abubakar of Calarian.

Gadayan said the buy-bust operation was led by Sr. Insp. Jowie Lucas around 1 a.m.

The suspects were cornered by the police after they sold a medium-size sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer with P500 as marked money paid to him.

Police recovered another medium size sachet of shabu, drug paraphernalia, a .38 cal. revolver and a suspected stolen motorcycle from the suspects.

Gadayan disclosed that the buy-bust operation was carried out after they received a report that shabu peddling is very rampant in Sitio Luyahan

Gadayan has also gathered information that some of the drug pushers and users in the area are involved in shooting incidents and stealing of motorcycles in the city.

Meanwhile, the same operatives arrested SPO1 Bensar Awaluddin Ahial, 37, married, of Capitol Hills, Jolo, Sulu at a checkpoint in Guiwan Old Highway for possession of a sachet of shabu.

A police report disclosed that policemen were manning a checkpoint where Ahial passed by.around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Ahial was seen carrying a 9mm pistol. When interrogated, he introduced himself as a policeman.

However, when the policemen asked Ahial for any identification card and documents of his gun, he became arrogant prompting the lawmen to confiscate his pistol. At this point, Ahial showed a “letter order”,  but policemen noticed a sachet of shabu and rolled aluminum foil tucked in his wallet.

The three were brought to the central police station, while the seized items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination. – Dan Toribio Jr.
