Another man was gunned down as gun violence continue to hound the city.

The latest gun attack took place in Barangay Mampang last Monday night.

Alih Jani, single, of Km. 8, Mampang. sustained a bullet wound in the head and was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police identified the suspects as Ustadz Arastam Tarasain, 53, Alsam Tarasain, 14 and an unidentified companion, all residents of Alvarez Drive, Mampang.

Initial investigation disclosed that Jani was crossing the road on his way to open the recently installed water pipe facility when the suspects aboard a motorcycle appeared and Ustadz Tarasain shot him once.

The suspects sped towards the city proper after shooting JAni, while some residents reported the incident to the Tetuan Police Station.

Police said that Jani had hacked the son of Tarasain some months ago.

The Tarasain family and Jani had entered into an amicable settlement after the latter promised to pay “blood money”.

However, Jani reneged with his promise which prompted the suspects shoot him. – Dan Toribio Jr.
