3 arrested in anti-motorbike theft operation PDF Print E-mail

Three suspected motorcycle thieves were arrested by the police in a follow-up operation at Sitio Pitogo, Sinunuc yesterday morning.

The arresting team also recovered three stolen motorcycles.

Arrested were Faisal Nuril, 20, of Taluksangay, Benhar Vicente, 31, and Al Sarabi, 32, both of Pitogo, Sinunuc. They were nabbed by men of the Investigation Section and Anti-Carnapping Unit led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines and Sr. Insp. Raymond Sanson.

The trio were detained at the central police station for further investigation while appropriate charges were being readied against them.

In an interview, Nuril admitted that he was the one who stole the three seized motorcycles in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay and sold them at very low price to Vicente and Sarabi who bought the stolen items without papers.

Nuril have been charged for carnapping few years ago and was detained in jail. He was later temporarily released.

Police were still conducting follow-up operations for the possible recovery of more stolen motorcycles. – Dan Toribio Jr.
