A tricycle driver was robbed and stabbed by three holduppers at Acacia Drive, Baliwasan at dawn last Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Arnel Tributante y Aniong, 32, married, of Gov. Ramos Avenue, Sta. Maria.

Tributante sustained two stab wounds in the body but managed to drive to the hospital to seek treatment.

He told the police that he was driving his tricycle along San Jose, Triplitt when three men boarded the vehicle and ordered him to ferry them to Baliwasan around 1 a.m.

When they arrived at Acacia Drive in Baliwasan, one of the three who was armed with a knife announced a holdup.

The suspects took the victim’s earnings amounting to P200. Not contented, one of the holduppers who was holding the knife stabbed Tributante twice before running away.

Although wounded, Tributante managed to drive his tricycle to Zamboanga City Medical Center. —Dan Toribio Jr.
