Men of the Tetuan Police Station led by Chief Insp. Elmer Acuña arrested the gunman who shot and killed a fish vendor in Talon-Talon last Wednesday.

Arrested was Shabry Nhubin Hinang y Guldam, 25,  married, of Nurby Subdivision, Talon-Talon.

Hinang was tagged as the gunman who shot to death Giovani Almazan y Delos Santos, of Talon-Talon.

Acuña said Hinang was arrested during a hot pursuit operation around 11 p.m. less than 12 hours after Almazan was gunned down.

Hinang was brought to the Tetuan Police Station for interrogation, before he was taken to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for paraffin test.

Almazan was on his way to a nearby store to buy softdrinks around 12:46 p.m. when a gunman appeared and shot him once in the head.

The assailant escaped after the incident. Almazan was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.

Good police work by Acuña and his men helped them identity Hinang and later traced his whereabouts. – Dan Toribio Jr.
