Holduppers victimizing tricycle drivers struck anew and got away with a tricycle, money and cell phone in Tumaga Porcentro at dawn last Sunday.

The latest victim was identified as Raul Rasonable y Faustino, 43, of Divisoria. He rushed to the Sta. Maria Police Station to file a complaint around 2 a.m. that his tricycle, P400 earning and a cell phone were taken by his passengers.

Initial investigation disclosed that Rasonable picked up three male passengers along Gov. Camins Avenue who asked him to bring them to Tumara Porcentro.

Rasonable told the police that when they arrived at Tumaga Porcentro, his passenger announced a holdup at gun point.

The holduppers then seized his P400 earning, a cell phone and ordered him to alight from the vehicle after which they took the tricycle and sped away

Men of the Sta. Maria police station were still conducting follow-up operation as of press time.

Police records showed that three holduppers have been victimizing tricycle drivers in this month of July.

Holduppers are taking the driver’s earning while in some cases they also take the tricycles then abandoned it elsewhere after using it as their getaway vehicle.

Tricycle drivers and operators are alarmed over this series of hold-ups wherein they are the target.

Meanwhile, police are hot on the track of the holduppers who operate their racket at midnight or early dawn.—  Dan Toribio Jr.
