A businessman was shot and seriously wounded by motorcycle-riding gunmen at Morning Breeze, Tugbungan yesterday noon.

Ayub Abdulwahab of Mampang sustained bullet wounds in the body.

A sketchy police report disclosed that Abdulwahab was driving a Land Cruiser SUV with his son beside him when two men riding tandem on a motorcycle chased them and the backrider shot him several times at close range.

Although wounded, Abdulwahab managed to return fire while the assailants  were fleeing.

Abdulwahab’s son then drove the vehicle for the hospital but accidentally sideswiped a tricycle. He continued driving to seek treatment for his father.

DZT gathered that Abdulwahab and his son came from Mampang and were heading downtown when the gun attack took place.

It was learned that the gunmen did not get the money that Abdulwahab were bringing.

Police were looking into a personal disputed as the motive behind the attack.
