Zamboanga City Integrated Ports Services Inc. (ZCIPSI) general manager Romeo B. Casela has expressed confidence that with the newly procured modern heavy equipment, port services wiill be greatly improved.

Casela said in an interview that with the P30 million Reach Stacker, the company can fast track loading and unloading of cargoes from vessels, compared to the previous old heavy equipment.

The acquisition of the Reach Stacker is a project of the ZCIPSI under its new management.

Casela said when the port is equipped with modern equipment, it will encourage more businesses and can help generate employment.

The ZCIPSI executive also said that with the modern port services, they can help boost the economy of the city, adding that he is confident there will be more cargoes to arrive.

Moreover, Casela said, the purchase of the modern equipment is also compliant to their commitment to the Philippine Ports Authority to improve their cargo handling capabilities.

He added that in three months period, there will be three more heavy equipment units to arrive. —  Dan Toribio Jr.
