Land Transportation Office-Zamboanga City District Officer Noel M. Noche disclosed yesterday that his office has been informed by LTO-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton that the  implementation and effectivity of the new plate for four- wheel vehicles will be on September 1, 2013.

Noche said the salient feature of the new motorvehicle plate is — once installed, it cannot be transferred to another vehicle because  it has a security code and  once it is removed from the original vehicle where it was attached, it will be broken and cannot be installed again.

The effectivity  and implementation of the new plate number for motorcycles will be on January 2014.

According to Noche, as of now, there are already available new plates for four-wheel motorvehicles.

Noche advised nmotorvehicle owners to always ask from his office for an authority to use a temporary plate number for their motorvehicles because the penalty for violation is severe.

He also advised motorcycle owners who bring their units from the dealer to provide an authority of  temporary plate number approved by the LTO District Office.

Noche also advised motorvehicle owners to always abide by the Traffic Code because the LTO-9 Law Enforcers Division is continuing their random operations to impose fines and penalties on violators of the traffic law  in Zamboanga City , Dipolog City, Pagadian City and Zamboanga Sibugay. — Allen Abastillas
