A 28-year-old man was shot and beheaded by three assailants in Lower Calarian last Sunday night.

The fatality was identified as Alraben Jallao y Lutian. His headless body was recovered by the police during a follow-up operation.

Initial investigation conducted by the Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines disclosed that Jallao was seized by three gunmen who dragged him to a dimly lit part of Marlboro Drive, Lower Calarian.

Witnesses told the police that while Jallao was being dragged by the assailants, he was shouting, “Bakit ako sisisihin nyo?” (Why are you blaming me?).”

Moments later, residents heard several gunfire and some saw Jallao fell on the ground.

When Jallao was dead, one of the gunmen pulled out a bolo and slashed his neck, then brought with them his decapitated head when they fled.

Aside from the headless body of Jallao, police also recovered at the crime scene 36 spent shells of different calibers, 19 rounds of live ammunition of M16 rifle, one round of live ammunition of .45 caliber pistol, 10 slugs of .45 caliber pistol and two jackets of unknown ammunition.

The victim sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and his head is missing as of press time.

The body was claimed by his relatives who it brought to Malagutay for burial service.
