A civilian employee of the military’s Western Mindanao Command was brutally killed inside a room at a lodging house in Barangay Tumaga last Tuesday night.

Sta. Maria police station commander Chief Insp. Felix Martinez identified the victim as Rizaldy Fernandez y Alejandro, single, of Luyahan, Pasonanca. He was employed at Wesmincom’s Finance Division.
Fernandez was found naked with multiple stab wounds in the neck and face, police said.

Initial investigation disclosed that Fernandez together with a male companion checked in at Bacolod Lodge and occupied Room 15 around 5:15 p.m.

At 7:15 p.m., lodging house attendant Arnel Contizano saw Fernandez’ companion leaving the lodging house with bloodstains  in his clothes.

The man hurriedly boarded a tricycle that sped towards the city proper. At this point, the lodging house staff suspected there was something untoward inside Room 15, prompting them to check. Fernandez was discovered dead and bathed inn his own blood.
Recovered inside the room was the black handle of a fan knife.

Police said that Fernandez used the name “Jojo Camivan” when they checked in at the lodging house.
