PLDT-Smart assists Limpapa landslide victims PDF Print E-mail

As part of their social corporate responsibility, the PLDT-Smart Foundation yesterday turned over financial assistance to the family of the two children who were killed in a landslide in sitio Cumati, Limpapa last August 3.

The turnover of the P20,000 cash assistance to Carmelita Kaluuyan, mother of Agustin, 15 years old and Ayen, 6 years old who were both buried alive under rocks and soil during the rain-triggered landslide.

The turnover, was done in City hall in  the presence of Mayor Beng Climaco, who has been holding various activities related to children and calamity victims in coordination with the PLDT-SMART foundation. Also present were Councilors Eddie Saavedra, Jawo Jimenez and Limpapa Barangay chairman Antonio Lacaser.

Mayor Climaco thanked the PLDT-SMART Foundation represented by Maria Socorro Ledesma and Sheila Tan for its continuous support to the city and for assisting victims of calamity.

She said PLDT has been a very active corporate partner of the city particularly in issues that concern the children and unfortunate individuals. Among the activities jointly sponsored by Climaco and the PLDT are the yearly conduct of Children’s Congress and Children’s month celebration.

Mrs. Kaluuyan for her part thanked company and Mayor Climaco for all the support and assistance. She said the city has never failed to help them at the time when they need help. — Sheila Covarrubias
