A Chinese national who arrived in the Philippines from China last February was reported missing after he went to Zamboanga City looking for mining business prospect..

David Nathan Uy of Camela Homes, Cagayan de Oro City, reported to the City Police Office that they lost contact with Gui Ping Li, 45, from Xiamen, China.

Uy said Li, who is a friend of his father, proceeded to Zamboanga City from Cagayan de Oro last month.

He told the police that around 1 p.m. on February 2, Li together with a certain Fu Zhuang Xu arrived in Manila from Xiamen, China. At 9 p.m. of the same day, the two boarded a plane for Cagayan de Oro where they stayed for several months.

On the last week of June, this year, Li left Cagayan de Oro and proceeded to Zamboanga City alone.

Uy said that Li contacted Xu, who was at that time returning home to China, and said that he was  in Pagadian City and on his way to Zamboanga City aboard a Rural Transit bus.

Sometime in July, Li contacted again Xu informing him that he was in Zamboanga City and he was looking for mining business prospect. After that Xu lost contact with Li . Until now there is no word from the latter.

Xu related the incident to Uy which prompted him to report the matter to the police.
