2 Zambo cops among PHL top police officers for 2013 PDF Print E-mail

Two Zamboanga City policemen were among the winners of the 2013 search for the Country’s Outstanding Police Officers (COPS).

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday presented the winners of the search after a rigorous selection process,

The two awardees from Zamboanga City are Sr. Insp. Arlan Lim Delumpines  and SPO1 Eduardo De Guzman Covarrubias

The other awardees from the commissioned officers category are: Supt. Edgar Alan Omas Okubo (Quezon City); Chief Insp. Carlo Magno Mercado Manuel (Manila) and Insp. Margienett Terano Yosores (Cebu).

For non-commissioned officers category, the other awardees are: SPO1 Edgardo Abastar Figuracion II (Zamboanga del Sur); SPO1 Raquel Ramos Aniwasal (Batangas); SPO4 Teofilo Siao Juanata, Jr. (Pangasinan); SPO2 Oscar Morales Angeles, Jr. (Marikina City) and SPO2 Rodito Torrevillas Viovicente (Lapu Lapu City).

Deputy PNP Chief for Administration Deputy Director General Ager P. Ontog, on behalf of PNP chief Alan Purisima, thanked the Metrobank Foundation, Rotary Club of New Manila East and PSBank for acknowledging the efforts of the men and women of the PNP who have exemplified “Serbisyong Makatotohanan” in the performance of their duties.

Director for Police Community Relations Lina C. Sarmiento also thanked the Metrobank Foundation and acknowledged their partnership with the PNP and the community especially in choosing the winners.

The partnership between the PNP and the Metrobank Foundation promises to get stronger in the years to come as COPS envision to further assist the PNP in professionalizing the institution through “PROTECT” or Policemen Responsible for Organizing, Training, Empowering Communities, an alumni organization for all previous COPS awardees.

Through COPS and PROTECT, the PNP is highly confident that the 148,000 strong men and women of the police force will be highly motivated to become better performing public servants and more efficient law enforcers who will guide the country towards progress with dedication, compassion, and “Serbisyong Makatotohanan.” — Jimmyley I.
