Land Transportation Office-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton disclosed yesterday that the implementation of the new motorvehicle plate number will commence on September 1, 2013.
Abaton said quoted the LTO central office to have directed for the simultaneous implementation of the new motorvehicle plate number nationwide.
The new motorvehicle plate’s salient feature is its security code wherein it is only for the originally installed motorvehicle registered. When the plate number is removed from the original registered motorvehicle, it will be broken and cannot be registered anymore.
Meanwhile, Abaton said the Department of Transportation and Communication has directed the Land Transportation Office to conduct an information dissemination nationwide on the 3rd week of August on Republic Act No. A 10586 otherwise known as the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Law.
Abaton and the Technical Working Group  attended the finalization of the draft  of the Implementating  Rules and Regulations (IRR) of R. A 10586 last August 14-16 at Wigus Hotel  Clarkfield Angeles City Pampanga.
On the other hand, Abaton disclosed that all the district offices of LTO-9 in Zamboanga City will have CCTVs for its operations and recording of clients entering LTO premises. All district offices will also have emission gadgets in compliance of the Clean Air Act.— Allen Abastillas
