Wanted businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles and her brother Reynald “Jojo” Lim are still in the Philippines.

Napoles is the alleged “brains” behind the P10-billion pork barrel and P900-million Malampaya fund scams.

She and her brother are the subjects of an intensified nationwide manhunt by law enforcement agencies by virtue of an arrest order issued by the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 150 for the case of serious illegal detention allegedly committed on Benhur Luy, the whistleblower in the pork barrel scam.

According to Acting BI Commissioner Sigfried Mison, based on the database of the travel records of the agency the siblings Napoles and Lim are still in the country.

Mison said the two siblings will have difficulty in leaving the country as their passports have been cancelled by the Dept. of Foreign Affairs.

Nevertheless, he said they also have strict instructions to immigration officers in the international airports and seaports to be on alert once the wanted siblings are sighted in their respective areas.

He added the pictures of Napoles and Lim are also posted in the airports to help in their capture.

Meantime, Mison said the BI is also coordinating with the DFA so that the agency will be very careful in processing of new passports, especially for people who have “resemblance” with Napoles and Lim.

In so doing, he said, what happened to siblings former Palawan Gov. Joel Reyes and Mario Reyes who were able to leave the country despite the warrant of arrest against them after using a passport with a different name will not be repeated. (PNA)HBC/PTR
