A police building will soon be constructed in Barangay  Muti in the east coast with a  budget of P 1.5 million.

Muti Barangay Chairman Iraji A. Pawaki said the construction of the new police station building is very important because his barangay needs regular  police force for the maintenance of  peace and order.

Muti has a regular Army detachment of the Task Force Zamboanga.

According to Pawaki, he needs a regular police force so that his constituents can live peacefully — protected from lawless elements who regularly pass the coast of Muti going to other places.

“I do not want my constituents to be harmed by lawless elements while they tend to their livelihood activities like seaweeds farming, coconut and rice farming, fishing and other agricucltural endeavors,” Pawaki said.

He added that some areas in the barangay have farm-to-market roads and there are some ongoing projects in others.    The barangay hall of Muti is now ready for turn-over by the contractor for completion. Other projects completed are a three classroom building at Sitio Marangan and four-room barangay health center. The road  from the highway to Muti beach has also been concreted. — Allen Abastillas
