Police on Sunday rescued a 21-year-old woman at a disco nightclub where her live-in partner detained her for several days along Gov. Camins Avenue.

The woman who was working in the said nightclub was safely taken out of a barracks at the back of the establishment by the police around 3 p.m.

A police report disclosed that the woman had contacted her relatives in Bugo, Cagayan de Oro asking for assistance to free her from her 35-year-old live-in partner who detained her at the barracks and prevented her from going out as well as forced her to take prohibited drugs.

Gel-Gel’s relatives contacted a local radio station in Cagayan de Oro which relayed the information to their main office in Manila.

The broadcast company Manila acted on the report and one of their reporters who is from Zamboanga City reported the situation to the City Police Office.

Men of the Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines swooped down on the said nightclub and rescued the woman. She returned to Cagayan de Oro where she was reunited with her relatives.
