A female videoke bar owner was shot dead by one of two men in Putik last Thursday night.
Police identified the fatality as Mercedita Estrada y Piosca, 32, married, and owner of Tulips Videoke Bar. She was a resident of Sto. Niño, Putik and a native of Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Estrada sustained three gunshot wounds in the chest, right shoulder and right wrist. She was rushed to the Western Mindanao Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

A police report disclosed that Estrada was sitting near the counter of her videoke bar around 8 p.m. when an unidentified man described as having  large built, dark complexion and wearing black jacket with bonnet arrived and pretended as a customer.

Moments later, the man suddenly drew a handgun and shot Estrada several times.
Witnesses said that when Estrada fell on the ground, the gunman quietly went out of the bar and boarded a motorcycle driven by a companion.

A police source said three days earlier, Estrada figured in a heated argument with the legitimate wife of her lover who is a man in uniform.
Police were looking into love triangle as the motive behind the killing.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin Deocampo disclosed that the Divisoria police are investigating the case thoroughly for the immediate arrest of the killers. — Dan Toribio Jr.
