A 23-year-old man was arrested by a policeman for attempted holdup at an LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) outlet in Canelar yesterday afternoon.

Nabbed was Nuriel Baradji y Bacolod, 23, of Campo Islam. He was arrested by PO2 Jose Bargamento of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company.

A police report disclosed that Baradji, armed with a screw driver, entered the LPG outlet and pointed the tool at Ma. Cristina Del Rosario, an employee, as he announced a holdup.

A commotion ensued when passersby and other employees learned of the incident.

Timely, Bargamento passed by and saw the incident. He responded by arresting Baradji.

Baradji was brought to the central police station and was detained.  It was learned that Baradji had pawned his motorcycle for P5,000. He was pressured to reclaim the motorcycle but has no money to do so.

Baradji decided to stage a holdup for him to reclaim the motorcycle.

Police have readied charges against Baradji. – Dan Toribio Jr.
