In pursuit of advancing relevant procedure and new technological medical practice, the Zamboanga Puericulture Center is inviting doctors, nurses, midwives, caregivers and those in the medical allied profession to attend a one-day Scientific Symposium slated on February 24, 2011 at the Lotus Restaurant of Grand Astoria Hotel.

Dr. Rodel Agbulos, chairman of the Puericulture Center, said medical experts in related fields will be coming in from Manila and Cebu to discuss groundbreaking functions in addressing health situations of mother and child.

Agbulos said among the medical specialists who will be resource speakers are; Dr. Mary Chan, Dr. Mario Chan, Ms Mary June Icasiano, Dr. Wilfredo Dublin, and Dr. Ferdie de Guzman who will discuss issues on Complications in Pregnancy, Pediatric Emergencies, Pain Management, Weight Management, and the rising cases of Rabies.

“We always wanted to improve our responsibility in helping provide good medical support and service to our mothers and their babies. That’s why we have to attune ourselves to the latest medical practices. The symposium will be of great importance to those medical professionals, thus we are sending this invitation,” Agbulos said.

Agbulos also informed that also invited to the affair were Ms Margie Juico of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. She will be represented by her chief of staff, Vincent Juico, who will also see the concept of assistance to health services. Mayor Celso Lobregat will give the welcome message.

Meanwhile, Jovencio Ilagan, symposium coordinator, informed of limited seats only. A registration fee of only P500 will include snacks, lunch, and material references. Interested parties can call ZPC at 9913079 and look for Ms Maripi Salilig for reservations and inquiries.

Also expected to attend the event are hospital administrators and barangay health workers.
