Officials and employees of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) joined Monday the opening of the month-long celebration of the 113th anniversary of Philippine civil service.

Director Dominador Gonzales, Jr. of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) field office in ARMM said this year’s celebration“aims to promote, showcase, and celebrate heroism in public service and highlight stories of triumph and sacrifice among public servants.”

Gonzales said they have teamed up with different offices in the regional government to mark the anniversary celebration with a series of meaningful activities. Monday’s kickoff ceremony included a walkathon.

“We will also be giving recognition to outstanding public officials in ARMM,” he said.

ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman said his administration would continue to foster professionalism, integrity and accountability among public officials and employees in the region.

This year’s anniversary carries the theme “Tatak Lingkod Bayani: Isabuhay, Ipagmalaki at Ipagbunyi.”

Laisa Alamia, ARMM executive secretary, said lineup of activities can help promote friendship and camaraderie as well as improve the productivity of civil servants in the region.

“Let’s hope we can all become better public servants,” she said.— BPI
