Ichita Yamamoto, Minister of State for Okinawa and Northern Territories and Minister-in-Charge of Ocean Policy and Territorial Issues of Japan, said that Filipino workers are very intelligent and very easy to work with.

He made this assessment after meeting with Japanese executives whose companies are based in the former Subic Bay Naval Base in Zambales and Clark Field in Pampanga.

“When I visited Subic and Clark (Wednesday), I had a meeting with presidents and leaders of Japanese private companies there. They, those leaders, agreed upon that Philippines (Filipino) people are very educated, very intelligent and very easy to work with and I was very glad to hear their stories,” Yamamoto said through his interpreter.

During his visit, the Japanese official said that he has learned how the Philippine government was able to utilize the former American bases in trying to attract investment as well as diversifying its industrial complexes.
