Kidnapped teacher, student released PDF Print E-mail

A faculty member and a female student, who were kidnapped the other day, were released by their abductors in Barangay Piaggapo, Lanao del Sur last Thursday afternoon.

Western Mindanao Command information officer Lt. Col. Randolph Cabangbang disclosed that Neil Criz Gulfan, 24, a faculty member of Al-Khawirizmi International College and a resident of Marawi City and Aubrey Virtudez, 19, a student of Mindanao State University, of Cagayan de Oro City, were freed by their kidnappers around 5:30 p.m.

Cabangbang said the victims were released due to pressure from police and military operations.
The military spokesman said that there was no ransom paid.

Gulfan and Vistudez were taken to Amai Pakpak Medical Centerin Marawi City for medical check-up. They were seized a by group of armed men in the evening of February 19 at MSU compound and were dragged to a waiting vehicle.

Gulfan and Virtudez were turned over to their respective relatives after medication and debriefing. — Dan Toribio Jr.
