A 22-year-old woman believed to be member of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) was arrested in Barangay San Roque yesterday.

Nabbed was Jarmaida Wahid, single, a native of Jolo, Sulu and temporarily residing in Sta. Catalina. She was collared by policemen and barangay officials and was taken to the central police station for questioning.

Report said that Wahid went to visit her relatives but while on her way, she was stopped by policemen who asked her for any identification.

Wahid presented her MNLF identification card that prompted the lawmen to hold her.

In Wahid’s identification card,  it appeared that she is a member of the Royal Special Forces.

Also recovered from her possession was a cellphone with messages in the sent items and inbox indicating that she had contacted some MNLF fighters.

Wahid however denied the accusation saying that she is not a member of any rebel group.

She claimed that her identification card was only given to her by a friend.

Wahid was placed under tactical interrogation and appropriate charges will be filed if found more evidences. – Dan Toribio Jr.
