The Land Transportation Office will send foodstuff and other relief goods for the evacuees in Zamboanga City.

LTO-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton disclosed that LTO chief Usec Virginia P. Torres has directed all regional directors nationwide to send  contributions like foodstuff and other relief goods for Zamboanga City evacuees.

Abaton is now holding office in Pagadian City and waiting for the donations and relief goods from the different Land Transportation Offices units.

The LTO Zamboanga City District Office is closed with no business transactions going on as the office is very near the conflict areas.

“We will open the district office when the situation will go back to normal. The sending of relief goods to evacuees is the humanitarian  task of LTO,” Abaton said.

He also reported to Usec. Torres that not only the evacuees are affected by the standoff,  but also the daily wage workers and small entrepreneurs like vendors, drivers, store workers. — Allen Abastillas
