13 rescued, recruiter arrested in another human trafficking case PDF Print E-mail

Operatives of the Women and Children Protection Desk, in coordination with the Sea Base Anti-trafficking Task Force, rescued 13 victims of illegal recruitment aboard a vessel bound for Sabah Malaysia last Thursday afternoon.

Police also arrested a suspected illegal recruiter identified as Arlene Santiago y Raquiza, 44, from Manila who reportedly assisted the victims on their aborted travel. She was detained at the central police station.

A police report disclosed that the 13 rescued job seekers have no travel paper and nor work visa.
Police identified the victims as Ricardo Aguillar, 33, of Navotas, Manila, Ruel Perez, 37 of Camarines Norte, Benjamin Casabar, 40, of Navotas, Manila, Ricardo Estopa, Jr., 31, of Caloocan City, Norman Obenza, 24 of Samar, Alejandro Miro, 52, of Navotas, Manila, Reynaldo Cruz, 31, of Malabon, Homer ado, y 48, of Manila, Romeo Laude, 49, of Navotas, Manila, Beato Limen, Jr., of Rizal, Reynaldo Corong, 43, of Cansa, Cavite, Manuel Mansano, 45 of Navotas and Eduardo Serrano, 40, also of Navotas.

The victims were taken to the Philippine Center for Displace Person in DSWD for temporary custody.
