Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas on Thursday  commended all government forces for doing a good job in fighting against MNLF rebels in Sta. Catalina, Rio  Hondo and Sta. Barbara since the attack started on September 9.

“Tuloy-tuloy po ito at porsigido ang operasyon. Binabati ko kayo, nandiyan kayo, pinagtanggol niyo ang mga mamamayan ng Zamboanga City. Medyo kalma na ang situation. Diyan nakikita natin ang inyong katapangan at buong profesionalismo. Kasama niyo si Pres. Pinoy sa laban na ito. Patibayin po ninyo ang inyong loob. Kailangan magtulungan po tayo”,  Roxas said in his pep talk at the Zamboanga City Fire Station where several units under the DILG and the Armed Force assembled.

Roxas was accompanied by DILG-9 Director Paisal Abutazil, PNP Deputy Director General Felipe  Rojas Jr., and PRO9  Director Chief Supt. Juanito B. Vaño

In an ambush interview, Roxas told newsmen that the camp of  Habier Malik in Sumatra off Talon-Talon was taken over  already by government forces.

“The forces of Ustadz Malik have weakened... pahina na ng pahina...   for due to the capture of 40 more MNLFs. The Department of Justice has already fired a case of rebellion and terrorism  against Malik and his group who were captured, arrested and surrendered,” Roxas said. — Allen Abastillas
