Each barangay in Sarangani province will soon be rendering computerized services to the people and internet will connect them to the outside world.

This project is the brainchild of Board Member Eugene L. Alzate with the Information and  Technology Support Training Activity for barangay officials held recently at Pela Grande Hotel in General Santos City.

The project is being supported by Sarangani Gov. Steve Chiongbian Solon, Vice Gov. Jinkee J. Pacquiao and Rep. Manny Pacquiao.

Gov. Solon said they are doing their best to put up internet connection in each barangay in Sarangani province with the help of information technology experts. Once the project is completed, each barangay in the province can be reached throught the internet through websites and social networks like facebook.

The Internet connection can also be used for the barangays to send out information on their activities and once completed, they can easily send information to government forces on the presence of lawless elements and criminals in their barangays, if there is any,” Solon said.

The province is known producer  of aqua-culture products, cocoquir, fresh tuna, pineapples, rice, corn  and livestocks. — Allen Abastillas
