More bodies, unexploded shells, grenades found in cleared areas PDF Print E-mail

Continuous clearing and retrieval operations by the police at the war-ravaged areas yielded one more body and several unexploded ordnance, grenades and firearms.

Men of the Regional Public Safety Battalion 9 and Zamboanga City Public Safety Company, Zamboanga City Police Office conducted clearing operations at the Tres Alas warehouse in Sta. Catalina and at the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology in Barangay Rio Hondo from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. last October 3, 2013 which resulted in the recovery of one charred remains, 33 40mm unexploded ordnance; two misfired 40mm; three hand grenadse; 3 rounds of Rifle grenade; one 60mm mortar tube; two burnt revolvers, two burnt shotguns and one long and one short magazines for M16 rifle.

The recovered items were turned over to the custody of Task Force Suyod for proper disposition.

Around 2: p.m. of the same date, the  following government offices/institutions were turned over to their respective administration: Hall of Justice; Department of Budget Management; Land Transportation Office; Bureau of Internal Revenue; Zamboanga City Museum; Pilar Shrine; Plaza Pilar; City Social Development Center; Women’s Crisis Center; Sta. Barbara Barangay Hall;  National Statistics Office and Sta. Barbara Mosque.

Meanwhile, around 11 a.m. of the same date, men of the Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Lim Delumpines, exhumed and retrieved a body believed to be of an MNLF member in Barangay Sta. Barbara.

The body was turned- over to the Villa Funeral Homes for proper disposition.

The SOCO team of the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 9 was requested to conduct post mortem and field laboratory examination.

Aroiund 5:15 of the same date, the same team recovered skeletal remains at Lustre St., Barangay Sta. Catalina.

The remains was later identified as that of Fe Monaya y Verganio, 38, single and a resident  of 16A Lustre St.

She was positively identified by her brother and said that she died last September 12, 2013 .

Another unidentified skeletal remains of a woman was found at the back of the Ufana’s residence by the Task Force Suyod along Lustre St. – Dan Toribio Jr.
