A 17-year-old boy went missing after he was swept away by raging water in the river of Tumaga at noon yesterday.

Roel Patrociño, 17, and seven companions went swimming at the Tumaga river and had fun jumping from a hanging bridge.

However while they were enjoying amid continuous rain, Patrociño disappeared from the group. His companions started looking for him but can’t find him anymore in the river.

They have strong suspicion that Patrociño was swept away by the strong river current and was thrown to a distant place.

The incident was reported to the police by the teenager’s relatives and companions.

A rescue team of the Bureau of Fire Protection immediately posted themselves in the different bridges in Guiwan and Tugbungan for possible rescue.

As of press time, there was no trace of Patrociño. – Dan Toribio Jr.
