A retired policeman and a woman were wounded in a gun attack in Suterville Thursday afternoon.

The victims were identified Akim Jallao y Paddam, 57, and Josephine Justo, 34, both residents of Suterville.

Jallao sustained bullet wounds in the body, while Justo was hit by a stray bullet.

Initial investigation disclosed that Jallao was walking towards a fruit stand to buy banana when four men aboard two motorcycles appeared and one of them opened fire on him.

Justo who was also in the area was hit by a stray bullet.

The gunmen sped away after Jallao collapsed on the ground with bullet wounds in the body.

Helpful residents rushed the victims to two different hospitals.

Recovered at the crime scene were spent shells of .45 caliber pistol.

During investigation, Jallao mentioned the names of Al Jambiran and Omar Jambiran as two of the four gunmen who shot him .

Police were still conducting follow-up operations to arrest the gunmen. – Dan Toribio Jr.
