The Land Transportation Office in Manila has issued a memorandum on waiver of fines and penalties for all motorvehicle owners and driver license holders in Zamboanga City who are affected by the three-week  armed conflict and crisis which started September 9.

The crisis resulted in the stop of all economic activities and closure of City Hall and all government offices in Zamboanga City.

LTO Zamboanga City District Officer Noel M. Noche disclosed that the memorandum on waiver of fines and penalties for all motorvehicles with expired registration and driver licenses was issued by Undersecretary Virginia P. Torres last September 30 wherein all  expired motorvehicle documents and licenses are exempted to pay fines and penalties for the months of September and October 2013.

Noche informed motorvehicle owners and expired license holders that LTO-9 operation is back to normal. They can transact business from Monday to Friday at the LTO Zamboanga City District Office  in Sta. Barbara and the LTO Electronic- Patrol in LB Supermarket and Yubengco Mall. —  Allen Abastillas
