Two women from Valenzuela City, Bulacan were rescued the other day by men of the Zamboanga City Sea-Based  Anti-Trafficking Task Force (ZCSBATTF) from human trafficking  attempt.

The government operatives likewise arrested a female recruiter in Barangay Recodo.

The two women were rescued in Varadero de Recodo by the ZCSBATTF led by the Philippine Coast Guard Zamboanga Station with personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development 9 and Philippine Center on Transnational Crimes Western Mindanao Field Office.

The two women in their 20s claimed they were going to Bacungan, Tawi-Tawi to have a vacation, but after a thorough investigation, it was found out that they are going to Malaysia to work. Their recruiter was also arrested.

The two women told the Task Force that they do not know where Tawi-Tawi is and it is their first time to go to that place.

They were placed under the DSWD-9 temporary  shelter called  Home for the Women, where they were  given counseling before they will be sent back to their home town. – Allen Abastillas
