An engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highway died after he was accidentally hit by a cargo truck along Guiwan road before noon yesterday.

Engr. Arnold Eleuterio was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Eleuterio sustained head injuries after falling from his motorcycle ground during the accident.

DZT gathered that Eleuterio was driving his motorcycle heading for the city proper when he was sideswiped by another motorcycle which caused him to lost control of the steering bar of his motorcycle that again sideswiped by a cargo truck driven by Rodel Agustin who was running in the same direction. The accident happened about 100 meters away from San Bernardino Bridge,

Agustin stopped the truck when he sensed that his vehicle came into contact with another motorist.

Agustin was terrified when he saw Eleuterio under his driven truck with thick blood oozing out of his mouth, nose and ears.

Paramedics arrived and administer fist aid on the victim before he was rushed to the hospital by an  ambulance.

Both vehicles were impounded at the Tetuan Police Station while Agustin was placed under investigation. – Dan Toribio Jr.
