Kidnappers struck anew in Sulu taking hostage a businessman in Christian Village, Gandasuli, Patikul, Sulu last Tuesday afternoon.

John Archie Hablo, Jr., 29, single, was abducted around 5 p.m.

Report reaching Daily Zamboanga Times disclosed that Hablo and his younger brother Jarold Hablo, 21, were riding tandem on a motorcycle on their way home around 5 a.m. when seven armed men blocked their way and seized Archie at Christian Village,

Authorities said the seven gunmen led by Bensaudi Sappari and Nonok Sappari, notorious kidnappers linked to the Abu Sayyaf Group, were aboard a Tamaraw jeepney that was tailing the two Hablo brothers. At Christian Village in Gandasuli they overtook them and blocked their way.

Archie was dragged to the Tamaraw jeepney  that sped towards Umangay, Patikul.

Information gathered by authorities in Sulu disclosed that the vehicle used by the kidnappers was hidden in Barangay Liang, Patikul while the gunmen and their hostage walked towards Barangay Tanum in thesame municipality.

Police and military forces in Sulu were still on hot pursuit operations for the possible recovery of the victim and to neutralize the kidnappers. – Dan Toribio Jr.
