Newly-installed Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-9 (PDEA) Regional Office Jeffrey Bangsa on Friday bared that he will focus on the high value targets in the anti-drugs campaign here in the region.

Bangsa said the anti-drugs campaign against high value targets is in line with the directive of PDEA Director-General Arturo Cacdac Jr.

Bangsa said the high value target personalities as people engaged in drug trade involving 50 grams and above as well as government employees and law enforcers.

He said that Region 9 is one of the critical areas as far as illegal drug trade is concern, citing they are eyeing on many personalities who fall under the category of high valued targets.

Bangsa also said they are validating reports about the involvement of politicians in the trade of prohibited drugs here in the region.

He said there are no foreign personalities who are actively involved in illegal drug trade in this region.

The PDEA official said the agency’s campaign is aimed towards a drug lesser region every year and hope to achieve a drug free region.

He urged the public to assist them in the anti-drug campaign citing solving problems on prohibited drugs is not the concern of PDEA alone but everybody’s concern.

Bangsa, who was previously assigned in Region 4-A, was assigned as the new PDEA regional director effective September 3. He replaced PDEA Regional Director Adzhar Albani, who is set to be assigned in Region 4-A.
