Retired PC general, ex-cop, wives held up, robbed in ZS PDF Print E-mail

A retired general of the defunct Philippine Constabulary and a former policeman along with their respective wives were held up by four gunmen in Barangay Sudlon, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur the other day.

The victims were identified as Buenaventura Reyes y Villanueva, 91, married, retired PC general, his wife Susan Lim Reyes, 51, both of Filmore Town House, Makati City, Pedro Gula, Jr., 56, married, former policeman and his wife Emelyn Gula y Esperon, 51, both of Gonob, Lapu-Lapu City.

Police said the victims were held up by four men armed with baby armalite and handguns. Reyes was divested of P18,000, undetermined Hongkong and Singaporian dollars, Chinese yuan, Korean currency, Thai Baht, red ruby ring, set of of Jade ring and diamond  and Ccitizen wristwatch.

Reyes’ wife lost a Bulova wristwatch and P3,000. The holduppers also robbed Emelyn Gula of P4,000, a ring with diamond and different ATM cards. Her husband was divested of a wristwatch and P5,000.

Police said the suspects escaped with the loot.

The incident was reported to the Molave Municipal Police Station.

Initial investigation disclosed that around 9 a.m.,  Pedro Gula told a certain Jojo Dumugho, a security guard of Cebu City to call via cellphone a certain Tony Pagsinahin to meet them at Caltex Gasoline Station in Barangay Blancia, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.

While waiting for Pagsinahin, Gula’s wife Emelyn received a text message from Pagsinahin informing her that a certain Jerry Peregu will meet them at the gas station.

Moments later, Peregu arrived with a tricycle. The four of them boarded and were taken to Purok 3 in Barangay Sudlon.  However, when they arrived in Barangay Sudlon , three men armed with a baby armalite and handguns appeared and announced a hold-up.

The victims were brought to a nipa thatched hut owned by Loreto Miñare more or less 1 kilometer away from the highway.

The four managed to escape and reported the holdup to the police.
