Police have identified the two men who lobbed two grenades at the house of Ayala Barngay Chairman Disoterides Librero which left two people dead and 11 wounded last Monday night.

Librero and his wife were among those wounded in the attack.

DZT gathered that few minutes after the grenade attack, policemen went to the house of the suspects but they were not around.

The suspects’ identities were known through the help of some witnesses who pointed to them as the perpetrators of the grenade attack.

Police however withheld the identities so as not to jeopardize ongoing operations to arrest them.

At of press time, police have formed investigating and tracker teams tasked to look into the case for the immediate solution of the case.

Men of the Ayala police station, on the other hand, were still gathering more evidences and sworn statements from witnesses for the formal filing of charges in court against the suspects.

Librero was having a “pulong-pulong” with his team that would have participated in the Nov. 25 special barangay election when two men aboard a motorcycle arrived and hurled two grenades on the group.

Two aspirants for kagawad in the November 25 barangay election were killed, while Librero, his wife and nine others were wounded

Killed were Elvic Gregorio y Sierra, 36, married, and Cecilia “Vita” Ebol y Carpio, 43, single, both kagawad candidates.

Wounded were Ayala Barangay Chairman Diosterides Librero, 53, married, his wife Novelita, 49, Alex Macapili y Carpio, 47, married, Victoria “Darlene” Padernal y Gorit, 49, married, Edgar Enriquez y Flores, married, Edgar Torralba, married, — all incumbent kagawads,  Bernardito Bucoy y Santos, 54, driver, Daniel Carpio, 43, married, barangay utility man, Arcenio Agustin y Cuerda, married, BIN member, Reyner Salanguit y Jones, married, kagawad aspirant and Alvin Gernandez, 39, married. — Dan Toribio Jr.
