2 men in drug trafficking case back at police detention cell PDF Print E-mail

The two persons caught bringing  in large quantity of shabu at the Zamboanga Airport were detained again at the city police office after they availed of the 15-day waiver during the inquest proceeding at the City Prosecutor Office last Monday.

Assisted by Atty. Karina Angela Fernandez of the Public Atorney Office, Mohammad Daud Hashim and Kalim Sabtari availed of their constitional right by signing the waiver for further preliminary investigation.

From the Hall of Justice, the accused were brought to the city police office and were detained again waiting for their waiver to lapse.

Police have recommended cases of violations of Section 5 (transporting of dangerous drugs) in relation to Section 26 (conspiracy) Article II of the Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Drug Act of 2002.

During the inquest proceeding, police presented all the evidences and witnesses against the suspects.

Based on the result at the PNP Crime Laboratory, the total of weight of shabu seized from the suspects was 17.480 kilograms

The suspects were intercepted at the airport while they were checking in at the departure area. The shabu was concealed in 18 packs of Alaska powdered milk.
