FTTHS student wins 3rd in int’l Turkish Language Olympiad PDF Print E-mail

A native of Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay studying at the Filipino-Turkish Tolerance High School in this city landed on the third place in the International Turkish Language Olympiad held in Istanbul, Turkey last June.

Guinevere Camacho, 16, a fourth year high school student of FTTHS, represented the country and competed with more than 100 contestants from different countries. She returned home with the third place award.

Camacho said she sang a Turkish song with an English title,  “No one is innocent”.

The competition was held from June 1 to 16 where in all the contestants from the different countries sang Turkish songs.

Camacho said from the beginning she was expecting to be one of the finalists.

Camacho said she studied at the FTTHS from third year up to the present and is a scholar being a young singer of the school.

She said her goal is to finish her study and become professional singer like Beyonce and Sarah Gerronimo.

The FTTHS president Mehmet Biter said the school is very proud of Camacho for her singing talent and being a good student of the school. – Dan Toribio Jr.
