The Mason Malinaw Lodge 25 of San Pablo City Laguna donated school bags with school supplies for the children of evacuees sheltering at the Divisoria  Elementary and High School.

The donation was turned yesterday afternoon

The children-reicipients belong to families displaced by the MNLF siege on September 9 in Barangays Sta. Catalina, Rio Hondo Sta. Barbara, Mariki and Talon-Talon. The series of heavy gunbattles between government forces and MNLF rebels lasted for three weeks, killing hundreds, wounding scores and destroying millions of pesos worth of properties.

One of the Mason Malinaw Lodge 25 officers said they went to Zamboanga City to turn over the bags and school supplies  because they care about the predicament and the traumatic experience of the children.

The Mason Malinaw Lodge 25 expressed optimism that their donation will bring joy to the children and will be used by the latter to forget their sad experience during the three-week crisis.

The donation was done in cooperation with the Grand Lodge of the Philippines,  Masonic District Region 9-C Zamboanga, Masonic District Region 1V-B Laguna, Jacksonville Creative Concepts Texin Inc. and  Sulpicio Lines. — Allen Abastillas
