The Department of Science and Technology in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DOST-ARMM) will launch this November 28 some of the products it helped developed in different areas of the region.

Among the products that will be showcased are the virgin coconut oil being produced by the Matling Industrial Corporation in Lanao del Sur, the mangosteen jam of the Sanyang Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Sulu, the dried boneless tilapia of CEMILARDEF, Inc. in Maguindanao and the Yakan’s authentic fabric produced in Basilan.

Myrah Alih, DOST-ARMM secretary, said they provided technical assistance on the handling, packaging and labeling, and product design of the products that will be formally unveiled.

“The event should allow them access to more consumers,” she said.

Alih said all the products, which will be unveiled at ARMM’s Regional Halal Standards and Testing Laboratory (RHSTL), are halal certified.

She said the halal certification gives assurance of the quality standard of the products

DOST-ARMM will also conduct technology demonstration on food processing on the same day. — ARMM Bureau of Public Information
